The ones I recognise here are Dad, Dennis & Barbara, John Edwards, and Grandma Singleton. The guy on the left looks familiar but I can't name him. On the right is Dennis & Barbara, with offspring Martin and Anne, and Mum and Elvis. This little gathering took place at 21 North Street and for some reason I always remember that lamp shade. Pink plastic.

  1. The wedding picture - I know Mom and Dad had a big row about this wedding - he went and she wouldn't go but I don't know why. The Grandma Emma Harriet Singleton is Dennis, John & Audrey, Terry and my grandma on our father's side. I think, possibly Dennis, John, and Audrey's parents must have already died. Dennis had just come out of the army. Maybe we can get Audrey or John to identify others and "tell the rest of the story".

  2. Behind Barbara at the table is a new fireplace that Dad replaced the old black cooking range with (not seen in photo). I remember him chasing the large copper pipes in the wall and across the top of that window in the picture, so as to utilize the back boiler behind the fire to heat the water. Through the window, you can just see a part of my workshop and Terry's workshop. There is also a story attached to the cake plate in the center of the table. One day the heavy crystal glass cake plate got replaced by a flimsy bluish plastic cake plate. When I was asked to pass the cake plate over to somebody, I didn't realize there was such a big reduction in weight. I picked it up and the contents of the cake plate went all over the room!! The net curtain across the window was put there to stop visitors seeing the rust around the sauce bottle top. Sauce bottle wasn't on the table that day. :-)
